Branches Community School enrolls children once/year to begin school in September. We accept children with childcare subsidies as well as private-pay families. We utilize sliding scale tuition, and calculate each family’s tuition at 15% of their adjusted gross income.

We are a year-round, full-day program, honoring national holidays and scheduled breaks throughout the year.

School is open from 8:15am – 5:15pm, Monday-Friday.

Our applicant pool for 2024 admissions is now closed, and no further applications will be accepted.

Admissions for families interested in a Sept. 2025 start date will resume in October.

Enrollment Process

Tour

To learn more about our school, we invite you to join an in-person group tour with our director. Tours are offered each fall for admission in the following school year. Families interested in the fall of 2025 can register for a tour beginning Oct. 1st, 2024.

After completing a tour, please fill out an application for admission via our digital childcare app, Brightwheel. We charge a one-time $50 application processing fee. Once your application is received your child will join our applicant pool for the upcoming school year. We do not use a numbered wait-list, as we build classroom cohorts that support diversity in all forms.
All families in the applicant pool will be notified of enrollment decisions the first week of March. If you are not offered a space in the upcoming school year, your child’s application will rollover for future years.

Apply for Childcare Subsidy

Families interested in applying for childcare subsidy are encouraged to begin the process here. Please contact beth@branchescommunityschool.com with any questions related to Durham’s childcare subsidy program.

Connect

Prior to your child’s first day of school, we create opportunities to get to know one another and strengthen relationships between families and teachers. Home visits are offered for children to play with their teachers in a familiar space, while parents share information about their child’s personality and interests. Visiting days offer parents a chance to experience a day in the life at Branches and meet other school families.
